What families have told us

RH
Roslinda Hamid
Petaling Jaya · Records Organisation

We completed the Records Organisation Programme in March. I had been meaning to sort out our household documents for years — identification papers, the children's school records, insurance — and kept putting it off because I did not know where to start. The programme gave us a clear structure and Zainal was patient with how scattered everything was. We now have one folder that the whole family knows about and can use.

Subang Jaya · Communication Workshop

My wife and I attended the Communication Workshop after a difficult few months of disagreeing about household responsibilities. The session did not tell us what decisions to make — which honestly was what I was hoping for at first — but it gave us a language for having the conversation ourselves. We have used the frameworks at home several times since. It takes practice, but it works.

Damansara · Annual Planning Programme

The Annual Planning Programme has been different from what I expected — in a good way. Nadia comes to our home for the setup session and the quarterly conversations are calm, focused, and short enough that everyone in the family actually shows up. My husband was sceptical at first but he is the one who suggested we continue for a second year. The in-home arrangement makes a real difference.

Cheras · Records Organisation

My elderly parents live with us and the situation with their documents was genuinely chaotic. We enrolled in the Records programme partly for them and partly to set up a shared folder the whole household could use. Four sessions across two months was the right pace. We did not feel rushed and by the third session we could see it coming together. The maintenance guide they left us with is simple enough that my parents can follow it.

Mont Kiara · Communication Workshop

A four-hour session is long but not too long — there is a break in the middle and the second half feels different from the first. The frameworks are not complicated, which I appreciated. I had expected something more theoretical. One of the practice exercises was unexpectedly useful — we have referred back to it at home twice in the last month. I would say bring both partners and come with a genuine question you want to work through.

Ampang · Annual Planning Programme

We are a three-generation household and finding a planning rhythm everyone could take part in felt impossible before. The annual programme has built something small and regular — four conversations a year, structured enough to stay on track, informal enough that my mother-in-law participates. The facilitator does not try to solve our problems for us. That was initially frustrating; now I understand why it matters.

Three household journeys

Records Organisation Programme 2 months · RM 1,950
Challenge

A family of five in Shah Alam had documents spread across three drawers, one box, and a shared drive that nobody could find. When they needed the children's birth certificates for a school application, the search took most of a morning.

Programme

Over four sessions spanning February to April, the family built a single labelled folder system covering identification, property, insurance, and a household contact list. A written family timeline was completed in session three.

Result

The family completed the programme with a single, organised folder and a quarterly maintenance reminder in their household calendar. A follow-up six months later confirmed they were still using both.

"The folder was what I needed. The maintenance rhythm was what I did not know I needed." — Household participant, Shah Alam
Annual Family Planning Programme 12 months · RM 4,620
Challenge

A couple in Bangsar with two teenage children had no regular structure for household planning conversations. Important decisions — about finances, living arrangements, school choices — were either avoided or handled by one parent alone.

Programme

The programme began with an in-home setup session to establish topics and household priorities. Four quarterly sessions across the year gave the family a structured time to discuss shared plans. The teenagers participated in three of the five sessions.

Result

By the end of the year, the household had a written annual summary and a set of quarterly topics they had identified themselves. They enrolled in a second year of the programme.

"Having four set conversations a year sounds small. It turned out to be enough to change how we talked between them." — Household participant, Bangsar
Communication Workshop 1 day · RM 580
Challenge

A newly married couple in Kepong found that disagreements about household responsibilities were getting sharper. Both partners felt they were contributing fairly; neither felt the other saw it that way.

Programme

The couple attended the four-hour Communication Workshop. The session introduced two frameworks particularly relevant to early-household planning: shared inventory conversations and responsibility mapping. Both were practised during the session.

Result

The couple reported using the responsibility mapping framework at home within two weeks of the session. They later enquired about the Records Organisation Programme to build on the foundation.

"We had been having the same argument. After the workshop we had a different conversation instead." — Household participant, Kepong
